New Zealand Tourism Info

New Zealand is full of fun and exciting things to do. You can have a great time if you are looking to see new things, experience new foods, or you are simply looking to rest. Below we will discuss some of the top things to do in New Zealand.

Top things to do in New Zealand Tourism:

1. Auckland Museum.

The Auckland Museum is a beautiful neo-classical temple is capped with a prominent dome that is made of copper and glass. It is quite an impressive structure to look at. It features a huge display of Pacific Island crafts and artefacts that are sure not to be missed. One of the best highlights from this museum has to be the 25m long war canoe that is on display.

2. Waitomo Caves.

The Waitomo Caves are definitely another thing that you must see and experience when you come to New Zealand. There is a reason this activity dominates a lot of New Zealand Tourism. The acoustics of the actual caves are so good that some musicians/Choirs have actually given concerts here. While you are in the cave, your eyes will adjust to the lack of light. Once your eyes fully adjust, you will notice a ton of little lights surrounding you. These lights that you notice are called” glowworms.” The conditions for “glowworms” are perfect within most of these caves. For this reason, you will see tons of them and it looks spectacular.

3. Kawarau Bridge.

The 23Km bridge from Queenstown actually became the world’s first commercial bungee site. It became the first official bungee site in 1988 which allows you to fall 43m in total. This is an excellent activity to participate in if you love extreme sports and adventures. You are sure to have a great time participating in this activity. I spoke to a group that was on a Motorcycle Tour out of Christchurch and they decide to take a side track to have a bungee jump; evidently, one of these so-called tough biker guys was too scared to take the leap – haha

4. Kayaking.

Kayaking is easily one of the best and most fun activities to participate in when you are in New Zealand. Most of New Zealand’s Tourism is focused on its sailing and kayaking. This is for good reason. New Zealand features some of the best waters to compete in water sports and engage in water activities. You can either participate in guided sea tours, or you can venture out alone in the waters. One option is to Kayak Whanganui River with Yeti Tours. They offer guided tours as well as freedom hire adventures. Regardless of whatever you choose, you are sure to have a wonderful time.

5. Te Whakarewarewa.

This hot spring is full of potential fun and relaxation to be had by all. It features over 500 springs that you can enjoy.

As you can see, New Zealand tourism is more than what you have heard. It is full of tons of activities and sights that can satisfy even the pickiest tourist.

6. Bay of Islands Fishing.

Certainly, a popular excursion is a fishing charter in the Bay of Islands. The authors of this blog have been on one of these trips with the owner Carl. A great guy with a real passion and skill for Snapper, King Fish and Marlin. Although in his industry there are no guarantees; with Carl, it is a safe bet!
